Louisiana Wedding Fun

Joe and I spent this past weekend in Lake Charles, LA celebrating the wedding of one of my best friends, Amanda Schram to Blake LaGrange.  We had such a great time and I was very, very sad to leave and come back to the real world.  The wedding was amazing, the bride was beautiful, and I had a blast catching up with old friends!

Amanda, her twin sister Sarah, and their parents were like my second family through middle school and  high school and I was so happy to be able to share in her wedding day!  Every time I see them it's like we haven't lost any time at all and we pick up right were we left off.  Joe and I were able to stay at Mary's apartment that she happens to share with a fellow bridesmaid, Alex.  Grace was also in town so it was quite a full house, but a fun one.

Friday consisted of traveling, mani/pedis and the rehearsal dinner.  On Saturday while I was out getting my hair and makeup done with the other girls, Joe spent the day lounging by the pool with Mary and Grace.  Then it was wedding time!  The wedding was perfect and once we were done with pictures we headed off to the Country Club where the real party started :)  The reception flew by as we all danced the night away to the amazing band.  The night ended with Amanda and Blake leaving on a beautiful sailboat complete with fireworks!  Seriously the coolest reception send-off I've ever seen!

On Sunday Joe and I drove back to Houston where we got to spend a few hours with Mimi, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Carol before we had to fly home.  Unfortunately I didn't take too many pictures this weekend, but I got a few good ones of the wedding festivities and Grace sent me some of her pictures as well.  Here's a little peek at the fun :)

Hanging out at Pujo Street Cafe for the rehearsal dinner.

Mr. & Mrs. LaGrange!

The old ICCS basketball team.

You know I had to get a picture of the cake.

The wedding cake was beautiful and delicious!
Keep your eyes out for a "Louisiana Wedding Fun - Part 2" later this summer when we head back down there for Sarah Schram's wedding.  Can't wait!!!

  1. Man, I can't believe both those ladies are getting married in the same year! Looks like you had tons of fun.

P.S. I got your package and LURVE it. Did you sew it? It looked Lisa-made. I will try to call you soon. May is turning into craziness 'cause I have several graduation cake orders and a ton of other events that are filling up my calendar. Thanks so much for the gift!
